Bologna, January 12, 2009. The EMS Product Team from Datalogic Automation’s RFID Business Unit announces a new line of Ultra-High Frequency products for auto-ID on the factory shop floor. The new line is an extension into the UHF domain of the highly successful Cobalt HFTM line of industrial RFID controllers, antennas, and tags. UHF permits longer read/write ranges than HF and now enjoys a high level of international standardization thanks to the EPCglobal organization and wide acceptance of their Class 1, Generation 2 standard.
To compliment the rugged design of the new UHF controller, Datalogic also announces the new Generation 2 version of the successful High-Temperature industrial "525" tag form factor, the G2-UHF525HT tag. The tag will survive up to 200 Centigrade in harsh environments such as automotive paint ovens, for reliable operation day after day.
Datalogic also offers compatible UHF antennas in both FCC-approved and ETSI-conforming frequencies. The antennas are rated for dust and moisture protection.
The complete new range of products includes UHF controllers following European and United States frequency standards, with direct support for fieldbus communications such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP, and more.
