Integrating RFID data into any Ethernet host, each Gateway communicates
with up to sixteen controllers such as the HF 0405 modular controllers on a
Subnet 16TM network allowing virtually unlimited expansion of RFID information
within a plant environment.

The Subnet 16 TM architecture provides users the ability to create
networks of controllers for large-scale RFID applications. When EMS’ RFID
controllers are connected to the Gateway, the system automatically assigns the
readers individual node addresses. Using a laptop, cell phone or PDA, the
controller diagnostics and commands are performed, monitored and verified
real-time whether on-site or off-site.
The compact size, 40mm by 56 mm, makes the Gateway ideal for
fitting into tight spaces. Four large LEDs indicate connection, power, bus and
errors. Power supplied to the Gateway is automatically distributed to the
controllers on the network, eliminating the need for individual power supplies
for each controller. The Gateway is available in two different models; the
GWY-01-TCP-01 supports standard Ethernet and the GWY-01-IND-01 supports
industrial Ethernet standards including EtherNet IP and Modbus-TCP. Both modules
are compatible with EMS’ HF, LRP and HMS series controllers and
antennas.
